It is 45 minutes from Cali, and only 60 minutes from the airport, which makes it an ideal place to spend the night after a long trip, rest up, and start bird watching early the next morning.

The Forest

The ecolodge is surrounded by a well-preserved cloud forest covered with many epiphytes, such as orchids and bromeliads. Tree trunks and branches are also covered with mosses and lichens. In addition to birds, there is a large diversity of other animals: amphibians, butterflies, and mammals (night monkeys, kinkajou, porcupines).

The clouds can cover this magnificent forest at any time of the day, creating surreal backgrounds for photographs. The weather can be unpredictable during the raining season (February to June), which is also the bird breeding season. During the summer (June-August, December-February), amazing sunrise and sunsets can be observed, with clear blue skies.

Ecolodge

The ecolodge is located on top of the western cordillera, making this bird community unique as many species from the Choco can be observed occasionally.

The location is also ideal to reach many other excellent bird watching places in Valle del Cauca, such as Anchicayá and La Leonera Cock-of-the-Rock lek.
